A woman sitting at a cluttered desk holding a cardboard sign that says 'HELP!'. She looks worried behind the sign. There is a dog sleeping on the desk with its head on an open book. Several other books, cups, a laptop, and a black cat on a side table are also on the desk. In the background, a window lets in natural light, and a whiteboard with a declining bar graph is on the wall.

What I Offer

My mentoring sessions are designed to support small business owners who feel stuck, overwhelmed or unsure of their next step. Each session starts with where you are right now and what you need most, rather than a fixed agenda.

Mentoring is a collaborative process. I’m here to guide, support and offer practical advice, helping you think clearly, make confident decisions and move forward at a pace that feels manageable. I don’t do the work for you, but I will definitely help you simplify challenges, focus on what matters most, and build momentum in a way that feels achievable and sustainable.

If you’re unsure which level of support is right for you?

That’s completely normal. Most clients decide after an initial conversation, once we’ve talked through where they are and what they need.

  • "I have been using Jane Field for a few months now and cannot believe the difference she has made to not only my business but also to my attitude. I was feeling rather lost and fed up before she came along but now I am really feeling excited about it all over again."

    — Susie / Helped her scale up her online life coaching business

  • Jane’s experience, knowledge and humour has helped me enormously. Nothing is too much trouble and she always makes me feel so positive.

    — Mark / Helped him navigate through some internal issues at his workplace

  • "I just wish I had come across Jane earlier in my work life! She has certainly made a big difference to my business mainly through organising and simplifying my admin to free me up to design which is where my strength and passion lies. She genuinely loves what she does and it certainly comes across."

    — Megan / Helping her overcome admin overload in her young business

  • Working with Jane hasn’t just helped my business — it’s changed how I think about myself within it. I feel calmer, clearer, and more grounded in what I’m building, and that feeling has stayed with me well beyond our sessions.

    — Harriet / Mentoring her to grow her 2 year old business

  • What makes Jane different is that she doesn’t try to “fix” you or push you into a version of yourself that doesn’t fit. She creates space to think clearly and honestly, without judgement. She helped me slow things down, untangle what actually mattered, and recognise that I wasn’t failing or behind — I just needed a structure that worked for me.

    —  Becky / Helped her to overcome work overload in her job

  • Jane has an enormous amount of knowledge and experience but most importantly she made everything feel so simple. She let me set the pace as I had to fit in school runs and childcare and never once berated me if I had not completed my weekly goals. I cannot recommend her enough for whatever stage in the business you are at.

    —  Cecilia / Helped with business start up

  • Jane helped me think through my future after moving from London and stepping away from a long-term position in sales. At a time when everything felt uncertain, she helped me work through my business opportunity options with clarity and encouragement. She asked the right questions to give me direction and confidence, helping me identify a sense of what I wanted next and the belief I could get there. Which I did! I will definitely use her again.

    — Deborah - Helped her on her own business journey

  • She has an incredibly balanced way of seeing situations: kind, perceptive, and extremely smart. You always feel she is fully on your side, while also giving you the honest perspective you truly need. Speaking things through with her has helped me make better decisions, feel less alone as a business owner, and move forward in a more focused manner.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you have a question that isn’t answered here, you’re very welcome to ask during a discovery call.
  • There’s definitely an overlap, and I often use coaching ‘techniques’ particularly asking questions that help clients draw on their own experience. However, mentoring allows me to offer practical guidance based on having built and sold a business. It’s a flexible blend, shaped around what you need.

  • My hands on experience comes from running an online creative business, but around 90% of business challenges tend to be universal. If you need very industry specific advice that I’m not best placed to give, I’ll always be honest about that during our discovery call.

  • The pace is always guided by you. Some people want momentum and structure, others need space to think and regain clarity. We move at a pace that feels manageable alongside the rest of your life and business.

  • Not at all. Most people come to me before things reach crisis point. Often it’s simply that everything feels heavier, noisier or more complicated than it should. Mentoring can be just as valuable for gaining clarity and confidence as it is for solving specific problems. (Although crises can also be addressed!)

  • That’s very common and completely fine. You don’t need to arrive with a neatly defined problem. Part of my role is helping you untangle what’s really going on and identify where support will be most helpful.

  • No problem is too small. If something is taking up space in your head, affecting your confidence or slowing you down, it’s worth addressing. You don’t need a dramatic issue to benefit from having support.

  • I work best with founders who are open minded, honest and willing to reflect, even if they’re feeling unsure or overwhelmed. You don’t need to have it all figured out; you just need to be ready to look at things calmly and move forward step by step.

  • That’s exactly what the discovery call is for. If I don’t feel I’m the right person to help you, I’ll always be honest. The same goes for you, if you do not feel we are a good fit. My priority is making sure you get the right support even if that isn’t with me.

  • You can reach me anytime via the contact page or email. I try to respond quickly usually within one business day.
